“This was the first time I was ever on television. They played a clip of Pressure Cooker to promote the show. This seemed to land me into hot water where I had to explain my work, its funny looking back but I think people understand the difference now.”
“This show seemed to provoke two very different reactions in people. Even though it was hugely exhausting time in my life it was also incredibly creative and hugely fulfilling in so many ways. Such a huge team effort.”
“When asked to set up an obscure Pop up restaurant for a TV programme I, as usual, set our sights very high. I'm sure at the time my staff thought ‘what will he expect of us next’.”
“Having never cooked on TV before it was a huge honour to cook on Ireland's first ever Masterchef Competition. I Suppose I tried to embrace the challenge by thinking of something that could celebrate Ireland on a plate, by trying to showcase some of the best of our produce.”
“My next encounter with Ryan was a lot tamer when I was asked on the show to promote Masterchef. Was great bit of fun, Nick Murnier and myself thoroughly enjoyed it.”
“I was really proud to have the honour to invite one of my old bosses, John Burton Race, to the show. John was a huge influence on me as a chef when I was younger. He held two stars for 15 years in L'Ortolan and was fantastic and encouraging to the contestants on Ireland's First Masterchef.”
